Spam is the biggest threat to organic search engines, whose goal is to provide quality search results for keywords or phrases entered by their users. Google's PageRank algorithm update ("BigDaddy") in February 2006—the final stage of Google's major update ("Jagger") that began in mid-summer 2005—specifically targeted spamdexing with great success. This update thus enabled Google to remove a large amount of mostly computer-generated duplicate content from its index.
First of all the allegations of a pyramid scheme. Since you have looked up the definition you probably know that a pyramid scheme requires downlines and several levels to the pyramid. That’s something you won’t find at WA. Many people join directly through the home page without being referred. Others might join under an affiliate and that affiliate earns a commission. There are no levels. Amazon’s got the exact same business strategy, does that make them a pyramid scheme? Some new members even get upset when they find out that Wealthy Affiliate is not an MLM. These people leave rather fast because they realize they need to actually build a real business instead of just recruiting.
Ok so I’ll bite. Tell me why someome that searches for any kind of product wouldn’t just go to the direct supplier rather than filtering through a long winded site to eventually click on an affiate link? If one happens to fall upon someones website as result of a search word only to discover an implanted link takes them to the actual seller, what keeps them from exiting their website and then going directly to the actual seller’s site, such as Amazon for one? I do this all the time.
I wouldn’t say you can’t be successful with a free domain, for example barenakedscam.siterubix.com, but having a personal domain will definitely help with branding and makes it more credible, plus there’s no restriction on the design if its your own domain. Free domains have certain restrictions in terms of the customization of the look and feel of the website.
There are two ways to approach affiliate marketing: You can offer an affiliate program to others or you can sign up to be another business's affiliate. As the business driving an affiliate program, you'll pay your affiliates a commission fee for every lead or sale they drive to your website. Your main goal should be to find affiliates who'll reach untapped markets. For example, a company with an e-zine may make a good affiliate because its subscribers are hungry for resources. So introducing your offer through a "trusted" company can grab the attention of prospects you might not have otherwise reached.
Getting started working online is the most rewarding thing you could ever do and you can work on this as much as you like. In your case you said you could devote 5 hours to it daily and that is great. There are many many scams out there that just want your money and promise you the world. Once you have a WA membership you will never need to search for another work at home offer ever again and lose hundreds of dollars like you already have. I look forward to working with you at WA and when you join please get in touch with me so I can get you on your way to earning money as soon as possible. Get started here
In 2 short months you would still be in your initial training period, so I don’t see how you can honestly say you found no use for it after 2 months. You need to slow down and take your time when you are going through the courses. That’s why most people fail online because they go through the courses to fast and they miss out on lots of valuable info.
Often times Affiliate Marketing is Over-Hyped: You’ll see a lot of testimonials promising spectacular results with affiliate marketing, such as “person X made $60,000 in just 30 days as a brand new affiliate” & there’s many similar messaging like this that unfortunately give affiliate marketing the wrong perception, that its some sort of get rich quick scheme, which it is far from. This kind of insanely fast results most likely came from a successful Facebook ad or other successful paid aid. Sometimes due to multitude of factors an ad can just take off and generate high revenues for short period & then burn out. The difficulty is being able to sustain those kind of numbers consistently. FB for one doesn’t like most affilaite offers to be promoted, so eventually your FB ad account will get banned or your ad will burn through its audience and stop working. I know this because I’ve been there done that. Those massive pay days are fun but the real challenge is can you sustain it?
The entire reason I created this site is because as an affiliate marketer, I started getting upset with the lack of ethics and misinformation being spread from MANY affiliate marketers, especially as it pertains to the “make money online” niche. So many online marketers out there promise you quick easy money if you just sign up and pay for this or that. Quite frankly, I’m sick of it. Growing an affiliate marketing business is just like starting any other business – it takes time, effort, and a lot of trial and error. I won’t get into it here, but if you’d like you can read my honest article about how long it takes to earn a full-time living with affiliate marketing.
An elegantly straightforward process, affiliate marketing via reviews, blogs, social media, and other platforms is a new frontier in marketing that’s just waiting to be utilized. Follow the tips included in this article, and you’ll be able to engage your audience, convert passive readers into active consumers, and enhance your paycheck one click at a time.
Hey Kim, There is no such thing as a dumb question. You won’t know unless you ask and I’m glad you asked this question. When you join Wealthy Affiliate you can promote anything you want, I usually recommend people to start out with a passion or hobby. There are millions of different products you could sell on your website from places like Amazon, Click bank and many others. You can do this by signing up to their affiliate program which is free to join.
Hi Scott. Well I must say, you certainly have made this sound very attractive. For the past year I have just been trying to figure out how all this works. ( I’m 49 ) I am not Tech Savvy!! Did not actually get my very first computer till a year & 1/2 ago( Don’t know what took so long 🙁 ). The Internet world, ( so I have heard it called ) is a scarry place :(, and if you want to become involved in it like I do, it’s hard to know where to start, who to beleive, who to listen to, very scarry. But I truly have to say that after reading your review of WA, I do feel alot more comfortable about finley finding someplace to start. I will be joing your program later this morning, after the birds wake up 🙂 (it’s only 5am right now). I would like to Thank You for the time you have put in to this review of WA, and giving me the sense of finally being able to say, I can trust this guy Scott. You have a nice day, and I do look forward to talking with you more down the road.
Some people are able to start making money in a few months while others it takes longer then that. I would say if you gave yourself a year and you worked on this at least an hour a day like you said that you could, then you could be making a full time living in that time. If you are willing to put the work in and take action on what you have learned then you could reach your goal before a year. I know that you can do this and you will have me there to help you out as well if you ever get stuck or don’t understand something. I do this full time and make a living off it so I am here pretty much all the time.
The wellness and organic living could be a very profitable niche to get involved with. With the help and support of WA you should be able to get started in this niche with no problem. (especially since you said you were passionate about it) If you follow the training and take action on what you have learned you will find it easy to have a website setup in no time selling these kinds of products.
If you haven’t done so already I would get started by signing up for your FREE account by clicking on the “Become A Member” button above, fill out a few details and you are in. I will be getting in contact with you within your first hour to see how things are going for you and to answer any additional questions you may have getting started. I really am looking forward to working with you Adam and helping you build a business that you will be proud of.
Also for a very limited time, if you join for at least a month I will be doing FREE one-on-one 30 minute coaching call for the first 10 people that sign up. I am very busy with my other projects, so I can't take do this for long. But if you sign up after 7 days, you will get a link where you can book your one-on-one session. I usually charge $99 per session, but you can get this for free when you sign up this month.
Jack I am about to join WA as a PM. If I join now I will pay $19 for the first month. And for the rest of the month $47? How is it that you also mention it is $359/year? That is $29.92 / month. Please explain to me a bit even if you feel my question a bit stupid:) Shal I pay first the $19 for the first month or pay $359 for one full year? I would prefer to pay the full amount for a year.
This support will be by email or personal message or whatever way you are most comfortable with just let me know. If you haven’t already done so I would encourage you to sign up for your Free account and fill out your profile by adding a image and description. I will be getting in touch with you shortly after that to guide you in the right direction. i look forward to working with you Dennis and if you have anymore questions please let me know.
After completing the first 10 lessons of the “Getting Started” course — which took me about 7 days, since I had other projects to take care of — I saw that I was being offered a 59% discount on the first month if I decided to buy the Premium membership, before a countdown timer reached zero. (In fact, since I got in, I was given 7 days — not minutes, or hours -– to decide; this was nothing like those “act right now or you’ll never see this again” pressure marketing strategy).
I have been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for close to a year. The lessons are great and easy to follow. There is so much information here that it takes a while to take it all in. They teach you to build your own website, join affiliate groups, write good content, and share it on social media. They have an awesome, positive community. I can talk to members from all over the world. We are willing to share our knowledge to help each other. After three months we can write trainings of our own to add to the wealth of information that is already available to WA members. It starts out free to join, with 7 days of free lessons, free starter membership and two free websites. You must go premium after that; but there is a discount for the first month. There is a discount also for going yearly. The training and community make the cost worthwhile. I give WA an A+++++++!
Always make affiliate links nofollow. Google’s goal is to provide its users with the best possible search results to their search queries. One of the main ways they figure out which webpages are the best is through links. The Google bots crawl the web, reading text. When they come to a link, it’s like an open door. They follow the link (walk through the door) and explore the site you linked to.
For example, when I first started back in 2009, I learned from a service called Solo Build It. I knew absolutely nothing about building an online business, let alone what “affiliate marketing” even meant. However, they changed my life and taught me how to build money-making websites online, which is what I’ve been doing with my life ever since. This is another great service to consider and you can read my review of Solo Build It here.
Don’t get discouraged though because I will be there to help you 100% of the way if you have any questions or need a hand getting started. Feel free to leave me a message anytime and I will get back to you A.S.A.P. I would suggest that you sign up for your free account using the link above and fill out your profile. After that get started on your first training lesson. If you have anymore questions then I will be glad to answer them for you.
I’m a student and a complete newbie to this online business. Don’t have the slightest idea how to put together a website or blog or write content, let a alone drive traffic to them to earn money, sounds like a mountain to climb. Nonetheless I am an internet addict(could spend close to 10hrs online daily). Really desire to be a super affiliate marketer and make money online, can WA hold me by the hand and take me through to my destination with my zero experience?
I will be getting in contact with you within 60 minutes of you joining to make sure you are finding your way around the community and answer any questions you may have. I am looking forward to working with you Maria and I hope this has answered all of your questions. Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have anymore questions let me know and I would be glad to answer them for you.
You don’t necessarily have to have a huge site or lots of traffic. Consider emailing an affiliate program’s contact person (look for contact info on the site or in affiliate newsletters) if you send a lot of leads their way, rank well in the search engines for a related keyword or have a high conversion rate. Make your email compelling. Read my tips here. You just have to be a good fit and provide excellent value to the merchant. Another good resource for this is here.
Hi Candice, This varies because everyone’s level of learning is different. If you are willing to spend at least an hour or two a day on this and you give it everything you got then I would say in a 6 months time you should be making money by that time. It is really hard to say how much you could be making but I would think any amount would be good. I will give you a little background into my experience when I first started doing this, I also had no experience whatsoever. I started this a little over a year ago and it took me a little longer to catch on then it does most people.
Wow! Where to start first/ Great review and very detailed. I liked the part about how you started. The review itself was laid out in a very in order and organized manner. Very easy to understand and I felt as though you were talking face to face with me. I liked your reasons to join and reasons not to join. The whole decision process is pretty straight forward for the reader once he or she has finished reading the review. Nice work, and well done.
Concerning WA, free membership is not allowed in my country, and as a member of WA for quit a long time now you should be a able to to tell us the reason(S) why some countries are not eligible for free membership, or is there a communication gap between the WA founder and the members? Because that should have been a very good ground for some newbies like me to start with.
I came across WA after looking into AmeriPlan, as I can see many across the board have also done. I am familiar with Affiliate Marketing, and even bought a kit from another company off a late night television promo many years ago, that I have yet to do anything with. The lure of making money online is pretty intriguing, but do have some questions/concerns I am hoping you can help answer. How do income taxes work with this company? Does WA take care of any of that, or would I be considered an independant contractor, or something similar? I will admit that taxes have been one of the major reasons stopping me over the years from doing a home based business. Also, I enjoy a lot of manly, & even not so manly things. I worry it would be difficult to narrow down a true profitable target audience. My passions include ATV’s, side by sides, products used in this sport, etc. Essential Oils, weightloss (I have lost 185 lbs), food, hunting, fishing, trucks, knives, music, toys, religeous items, survival tools, flash lights, and quite a bit more. What have you personally seen be the most profitable over the years? I have many passions, drives, and loves, that I could truly write about for years to come. Thanks so much for your help!
The problem with affiliate marketing, like many other home business options, are the so-called gurus and get-rich-quick programs that suggest affiliate marketing can be done fast and with little effort. Odds are you've read claims of affiliate marketing programs that say you can make hundreds of thousands of dollars a month doing almost nothing ("Three clicks to rich!"). Or, they suggest you can set up your affiliate site, and then forget it, except to check your bank deposits.
As far as writing content I would suggest that you follow the training and ask questions when you have them in the comment thread below each lesson. You would simply need to do some in-depth research on these other companies just like you did for WA. After you have compiled this information simply put it in your own words and write it in a way that it speaks to your audience.
Understand where people are at in the buying cycle and promote accordingly. Spend the most time sharing affiliate links where people are ready to buy. For example, you can share affiliate links on Pinterest, but most people are not on Pinterest to buy but to look. As such, focusing your affiliate marketing strategy on Pinterest might not be the best use of your time. Review posts, for example, might be better at tipping people over the line into buying.
My name is Jamie Spencer and I have spent the past 5 years building money making blogs. After growing tired of the 9-5, commuting and never seeing my family I decided that I wanted to make some changes and launched my first blog. Since then I have launched lots of successful niche blogs and after selling my survivalist blog I decided to teach other people how to do the same.
Wow this is a really comprehensive review of Wealthy Affiliate and I have learned things I never knew even though I’ve been a member for nearly 3 months. I love the program though and agree with what you have said. I also love the testimonials you have and the evidence you have given that people can make a living online. My own income is small but growing and i know that I’m investing in my future. Thanks for such an thorough review.
If you want the full story, you can check out my about me page (it’s a pretty cool story if I may say so myself). The short version is that I got started with affiliate marketing back in 2009 and was able to go full-time in 2011. I now own more than a dozen websites in several different niche industries. You can see a listing of most of my sites at RogersConcepts.com.
