Hi there, Yes you can work your business from anywhere in the world. It doesn’t matter where you live as long as you have an internet connection you can do this. That’s the best thing about internet marketing and what I love about it so much. To answer your other question, I wouldn’t quit your job right now because building a business takes time and it all depends on you as too how soon you will be making enough money to do this full time.
Do you have zero interest in an expensive mountain bike the company you are an affiliate of sells? Well, you probably don’t want to feature it on your blog, as it is extremely difficult to persuade readers (or anyone for that matter) that they should buy something you wouldn’t be caught spending a single penny on. When you are passionate about a product or–at the very least–interested in learning more about it, this will come through to your readers, engage them and better coax them to buy
If anyone is claiming Wealthy Affiliate is a scam, I'm going to guess it's because of one of the following reasons: they are trying to convince you to join a different program or they didn't have success with Wealthy Affiliate. Being a successful affiliate is going to require you to roll up your sleeves and put in some hours. Nobody said it would be easy, and if they did they're lying to you.
I personally would not recommend going into the ‘make money’ niche either. A lot of affiliates of theirs, in their quest for affiliate commissions, start bashing good products in order to promote Wealthy Affiliate, and that’s just wrong. Besides, if you’re a newbie to making money online, you shouldn’t create a site and pretend to be an expert in it.

Thank you for your input and honest comments on this system, it is of great help to think about it. I’m exploring building an online business and it seems to me, a lot of the success depends on really being able to generate qualified traffic to your opt-in page to build a subscribers list to begin with. For some reason, this aspect of the business is somewhat skipped through and not much information is given about it.

Hi Scott, thanks for you reply. When I create an account I get a message saying “oops, it seems we already have an account with info provided, please login using that information using the member login area” and when I try to log in I get a message saying “unable to find user account with credentials provided” so I’m just going in a circle getting nowhere. Please help..
Hi Jack, firstly, congratulations on your success. I’ve been trying to start an online business since 2014. I searched the net back then and came across WA and I think I joined the free start, but not knowing what I was doing, and with little patience, I soon moved away from that. I do remember you Jack back then when you started… The past couple of weeks, I’ve been receiving emails from SFM and was about to join up this morning. I was doing a little more research and came upon this your review. Thank you Jack, as I’m not in financial position to invest in SFM and as I’m still a novice today I choose to take up the free training with WA as I would like to position myself for retirement in eight years to have a successful online business. See you on the inside Jack and bless you for your honesty and sharing.

WA isn’t a domain registrar so you would need to purchase your domains from either Go Daddy or Namecheap. If you do a search on Google for coupon codes you can usually acquire your own domain for only $1 for your first year and this will end up costing you $10-12 a year after that. You can add plugins to your site so that you can have a shopping cart on your site and be able to accept PayPal/credit cards eCommerce as well.

Wealthy Affiliate was launched in 2005 and it has been growing and improving for all these years. The founders invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into the platform every single year. When I first joined in 2007 the site looked completely different and I must admit, it had less training and less support. They had less tools and the site navigation was complicated.
The best way to think about affiliate marketing is quality over quantity. There are a lot of small websites that will promote your product, but the key is finding a small number of partners that will deliver conversions. For example, an equity management services firm has over 20,000 affiliates in its system, but only about 25 affiliates generate 85 percent of revenue.
I don't promote WA and the training pushed me in a direction to promote something else. The idea is that you can create a business online working withing a category that you have passion in.  For me that is woodworking, but for others this is likely soemthing completely different.  There are lots of directions you can head.  People that say that the training is all about promoting the same company obviously have not gone through the training.  I didn't get a sense of that.
The biggest reason I love recommending Wealthy Affiliate to new affiliate marketers is because it literally provides EVERYTHING you will ever need. You don’t need to buy a domain name in one place then get hosting in another place while you sign up for training at yet another place. Everything you need is in one spot, for one consistent monthly cost. Plus, they don’t just provide the tools, but they give step-by-step training instructions on how to use all the tools properly. If you still don’t understand something, just ask the community or go into live chat, and you could get an answer in literally seconds.
You don’t necessarily have to have a huge site or lots of traffic. Consider emailing an affiliate program’s contact person (look for contact info on the site or in affiliate newsletters) if you send a lot of leads their way, rank well in the search engines for a related keyword or have a high conversion rate. Make your email compelling. Read my tips here. You just have to be a good fit and provide excellent value to the merchant. Another good resource for this is here.

A: No, You don’t! Wealthy Affiliate does provide an amazing affiliate program but you aren’t obliged to promote it to make money. Unlike MLMs and other “business opportunities” WA will never force you to annoy your friends and family by trying to push them into your “downline”. WA is mostly about teaching you how to set-up a real online business where you could sell any service or product that you can find in stores or online.

Mistake #3: Giving your friend’s product a glowing review without actually being familiar with your friend’s product. This happens a lot in the affiliate marketing (and book marketing) world unfortunately. It’s a “scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” type of situation. By all means, give your friend a glowing review, but if you haven’t actually read their book or taken their course or tried their product, don’t talk about it as though you have. Readers deserve honest recommendations! (Here’s an example of me helping to announce the launch of my friend’s book while being clear I hadn’t read it.)

How much you get paid would depend on how many sales you made for the month and how much commission the merchant is currently paying. When you get to the point where you start making sales, then you would be paid on a monthly basis. Also, the more traffic you have coming to your site would also play a factor in how much money you would initially make.
Thanks for the review I have been looking into WA and a couple other programs for a couple of weeks. I have decided WA is the way to go! However, I still have a couple of questions. They have probably been answered but I need some more clarification please. 1) I will not be paid by WA directly unless I am a part of their affiliate program, correct? Payments from other Companies come directly from the other companies? 2) This seems a little overwhelming. Is there a course of action for a newbie?
Hi Jamaal, Yes it is possible to do this on a smartphone or tablet but it might be a little harder then if you were on a PC or laptop. The great thing about doing this through a mobile device is you can work on your business from anywhere as long as you have an internet connection. If you have any more questions or need help getting started feel free to hit me up man.
Easy to start: The investment required to get into affiliate marketing is not much. Apart from the costs associated with buying a domain and hosting it, there is no other cost involved except for maybe a tool or two (such as benchmarking tools to test product performance, and the like) which would still not put a dent in your wallet. You can write the articles by yourself; if you think writing is not something up your alley, you can outsource the content to freelance writers.
Understand where people are at in the buying cycle and promote accordingly. Spend the most time sharing affiliate links where people are ready to buy. For example, you can share affiliate links on Pinterest, but most people are not on Pinterest to buy but to look. As such, focusing your affiliate marketing strategy on Pinterest might not be the best use of your time. Review posts, for example, might be better at tipping people over the line into buying.
I understand that WA has a built in solution to this — promote WA. That in itself is a business one can passionately dedicate himself to. This seems to be an excellent idea initially. But then we have to contend with the fact that there may be tens of thousands of WA affiliates who are in the same boat and who have nothing more to promote than WA itself. There is already a glut in this niche. That’s the reason why every time we do a search for product reviews, we almost ALWAYS end up with a product review done by a WA affiliate who is reviewing the product as a way to lead the visitor to joining WA as the better alternative to the business or product the visitor is researching on.
Whenever I talk to someone about WA – I always start by saying it’s not some money making scheme, easy system to riches or pyramid scam. So what is Wealthy Affiliate? Wealthy Affiliate University is first of all an online business community and a marketing training center. If you think that you will start making money by simply joining WA – I would suggest you walk away, it’s not going to happen. This is probably the biggest difference between WA and all the other online programs – Wealthy Affiliate does not sell hype and false promises, it doesn’t promise to make you rich overnight and it doesn’t promise you a shortcut to overnight millions of dollars. However, this program promises to teach, train, educate and support you. If you are willing to start and run a successful business – than keep reading.
I don't have time to la-dee-dah here. Just tell me where to go! If I feel that I need to take a few steps back I will. But no. Kyle HIMSELF made a rude comment to me. This girl suggested that I watch the Alphabet Soup section of the training, that it would help. I said this was for keyword help, and I don't need that. Kyle said that if I didn't know what keywords were for, then I had no business being on the internet. Excuse me??? I was simply stating that SHE did not understand, and led me somewhere I ALREADY KNEW ABOUT. He was rude. And within seconds revoked my ability to respond with his powerful finger.
By contrast, there are over 500 training modules within the community that take you from building your very first website to learning how to manage outsourcing aspects of your business. The core training is continuously updated to reflect changes in the industry so you can make sure your website stays ranked in search engines, generating traffic and revenue.
As far as how much you get paid for each sale this will vary depending on what affiliate program you sign up for and how much commission they pay. It also depends on what products you promote within your niche. If you decide to promote high ticket items like Big screen TV’s then you can make quite a bit per sale. The monthly income potential is unlimited as this is something that you will be starting from scratch and building it up over time.

The keyword research tool is a unique in-house tool. It's different than any other tool out there because it shows you how many websites are targeting your exact keyword. This is invaluable. With unlimited searches, you'll be able to find hundreds of low-competition keywords to target on your website. This means you'll be able to get on the first page much easier since you know how much competition you have.

Wealthy Affiliate saves my life and I can tell you I have been with them for 6 months and already generating income. Yes they say it does take time to work it but you have to make it work as well. Even those like myself never knew how to build a website I manage to make sells already and that's not just selling WA information, but other products I created as my own niche. The negative impacts or comments some.of you have shared about Wealthy Affiliates are wrong. You just dont give the time nor the effort to accomplish the training and materials provided. And as far as assistance online with WA, I got beyond the assistance needed. Wealthy Affiliate I referred over 80 people and they ALL love it!! So with that being said I have no issues with WA. Stop making it seem like they are SCAMMING you out of your money....
First and foremost, I found this while doing research on these on line work from home business. I am just kind of put off with your review because honestly they way you described your actions and attitude to the company in general, I would have reacted in much the same way but I would not have been as nice about it. Let's face it....you were rude. You know what they say, "you get what you give. I don't think anyone out there who has out the time and effort into creating such a training program would be okay with any one skipping ahead to what they think they need. You came off like a know it all and nobody likes that. So in my opinion, you tried something, it didn't work so, you didn't get your way and so basically this is your rendition of throwing a tantrum...grow up!!!!
“It’s worth joining WA even only for the free hosting. While it’s not something many would even realise, the free hosting alone MAKES you money. I have 7 sites hosted on WA and at an average $10 per month, would be paying $70 per month elsewhere. I only pay $29 per month at Wealthy Affiliate (i’m on the yearly plan) and that alone is enough for me to stay there indefinitely.

You are provided with 2 free websites to get you started and these are a sub domain and have the siterubix extension at the end of them (For example howtomakemoneyonline.siterubix.com) With the premium membership you get 25 of these sub domains as well as the ability to host 25 domains that you own on WA’s state of the art secure and high speed hosting that’s included with your premium membership.
Scott~ I am interested in WA and seeing if I can “make it work”. Definitely willing to give it my all. But, I am looking to sign under someone who is definitely 100% available for support. In other words, not just leaving the support to what we get under WA, and not saying you’re there for support but that being just a sales pitch. I have found by experience that sometimes the individual you sign up under is very slow in responding or doesn’t check in periodically to see how you are doing or if you have any questions. They wait until they are contacted. I have signed up for a totally different on-line business venture, but the individual I signed under has NEVER contacted me. My only support comes from within the company itself. Definitely was just a sales pitch!

The best thing about Wealthy Affiliate is the fact that you can Get Started For Free and learn the neccessary skills on how to build an online business. If you only have enough time to do this part time, that’s totally fine. The training was actually designed for you to work at this at your own pace. You should seriously consider at least checking out what the premium membership has to offer you within your first 7 days.
Path #2: To leverage on a business that is already setup, just like MOBE. These programs offer you a license to promote their products when you buy them, and you can potentially earn a lot of money when someone signs up through your affiliate link. To make money with them, you’ll only need to drive high quality traffic to their business, and the business will take care of everything. Problem is, as a beginner, you will not know how to attract the right traffic, and that’s where most people fail (because they don’t have the fundamental knowledge about Internet Marketing). That is why I always recommend to start from Path #1, because you will learn the entire game of Internet Marketing from ground up.

When I was a beginner and decided to join Wealthy Affiliate as a free member, one thing was evident right away. Wealthy Affiliate was designed with the beginner in mind. The one thing that I haven't talked about yet is time. If you can carve out 1-2 hours a night, you'll be on track to making a living. If you can't make time for the course, you shouldn't join the premium membership.
For your second question, You only get paid when someone clicks on your link and buys something. For Amazon they don’t necessarily have to buy the item you are promoting for you to make a sale. If they buy anything at all when they go through your link you still get the commission for it. If you have Google ad sense on your website and someone clicks on your ads you will get paid every time someone clicks on them.
I'm thinking about building a new site and partnering with someone. We would split the commission 50/50 and we would have to talk and see how to split up the work based on our skill sets. I would own the domain and you would open the affiliate accounts and receive the payment. After the payment is issued, you send me my half. Or we could have a joint PayPal account and divvy up the payments from there (I do this now with a friend and it works well). And of course, I would give preference to premium Wealthy Affiliate members when picking a partner because I know they know their stuff.
This was, by far, the most detailed and thorough review of Wealthy Affiliate I have ever read. Personally, I have been with Wealthy Affiliate for more than two years. I spent nearly six months loitering on the free starter membership before jumping into premium and then, of course, on to yearly premium. In hindsight, I wish I had jumped in much sooner.
I would suggest that you open your Free account if you haven’t done so already and get started on the training. The whole idea of the starter membership is just to get you started. If you really are serious about making money online I would suggest that you give the premium membership a try because you can get 59% off of your first month. This will also speed up the time it takes for you to make money because of the advanced training and all the awesome help and support you get from being a premium member.
As search engines have become more prominent, some affiliate marketers have shifted from sending e-mail spam to creating automatically generated web pages that often contain product data feeds provided by merchants. The goal of such web pages is to manipulate the relevancy or prominence of resources indexed by a search engine, also known as spamdexing. Each page can be targeted to a different niche market through the use of specific keywords, with the result being a skewed form of search engine optimization.
Designed to create a huge amount of traffic at all times, these sites focus on building an audience of millions. These websites promote products to their massive audience through the use of banners and contextual links. This method offers superior exposure and improves conversion rates, resulting in a top-notch revenue for both the seller and the affiliate.
I worked hard at this and spent as much time as I possibly could on this everyday and within 4 months I had made my first sale. Wealthy Affiliate provides you with all the tools and training needed for you to be successful, the only thing missing is you. If you work hard at this and dedicate yourself to the training lessons, take action on what you learn, and ask questions when you have them then there’s no reason why you couldn’t be just as successful as I have been or more.
I also want to add that whenever a Panda or Hummingbird update is about to be rolled out there is live video training that goes over how to be prepared for it, as well as things you can do to avoid being hit by it. If you were only with WA for 2 months then you obviously wasn’t serious about starting an online business. You need to give it at least 6 months to a year. It’s no different then starting up a traditional brick and mortal business in the outside world.

Focus on reviewing products that fall within your niche. Then, leveraging the rapport you have created with your audience and your stance as an expert, tell your readers why they would benefit from purchasing the product you are promoting. It is especially effective to compare this product to others in the same category. Most importantly, make sure you are generating detailed, articulate content to improve conversions.

Thanks for all the information I am slowly working my way through your list of do’s and donts! ! I’ve been approached by a website that wants to develop editorial content for my blog featuring home improvement tips from their”national client” and pay me $40 a year for reviewing and publishing their content. Boy, I am just not sure how this all works? Any words for when we are approached by others to write for our blogs?
After being accepted into an affiliate program, marketers receive a unique URL that includes their affiliate ID. They share that unique URL with their subscribers, site visitors, and social networks via text links or ads. When someone clicks on that link, affiliate software records that click and any resulting product sales in the affiliate’s account. When commissions reach a pre-determined threshold, the affiliate is paid.
Often times Affiliate Marketing is Over-Hyped: You’ll see a lot of testimonials promising spectacular results with affiliate marketing, such as “person X made $60,000 in just 30 days as a brand new affiliate” & there’s many similar messaging like this that unfortunately give affiliate marketing the wrong perception, that its some sort of get rich quick scheme, which it is far from. This kind of insanely fast results most likely came from a successful Facebook ad or other successful paid aid. Sometimes due to multitude of factors an ad can just take off and generate high revenues for short period & then burn out. The difficulty is being able to sustain those kind of numbers consistently. FB for one doesn’t like most affilaite offers to be promoted, so eventually your FB ad account will get banned or your ad will burn through its audience and stop working. I know this because I’ve been there done that. Those massive pay days are fun but the real challenge is can you sustain it?
I’m glad that you have enjoyed this review and I hope it has gave you enough information to decide if WA will be a good fit for you. I have been looking for something like this for almost 20 years when I stumbled onto Wealthy Affiliate and I’m so glad that I did. If you follow the training exactly like it’s laid out you will start seeing some really awesome results.
Do they value and help their affiliates? Some affiliate programs do an exceptional job of communicating with their affiliates, notifying them of upcoming sales, offering marketing advice or tools, offering contents and prizes during promotions and more. These types of affiliate programs are a pleasure to be a part of. Ultimate Bundles is an excellent example.
A quick and inexpensive method of making money without the hassle of actually selling a product, affiliate marketing has an undeniable draw for those looking to increase their income online. But how does an affiliate get paid after linking the seller to the consumer? The answer is complicated. The consumer doesn’t always need to buy the product for the affiliate to get a kickback. Depending on the program, the affiliate’s contribution to the seller’s sales will be measured differently. The affiliate may get paid in various ways:
Adam Enfroy is the Affiliate Partnerships Manager at BigCommerce. Adam lives in Austin, TX and writes about affiliate marketing and building your online influence on his personal blog.
Although it differs from spyware, adware often uses the same methods and technologies. Merchants initially were uninformed about adware, what impact it had, and how it could damage their brands. Affiliate marketers became aware of the issue much more quickly, especially because they noticed that adware often overwrites tracking cookies, thus resulting in a decline of commissions. Affiliates not employing adware felt that it was stealing commission from them. Adware often has no valuable purpose and rarely provides any useful content to the user, who is typically unaware that such software is installed on his/her computer.
The wellness and organic living could be a very profitable niche to get involved with. With the help and support of WA you should be able to get started in this niche with no problem. (especially since you said you were passionate about it) If you follow the training and take action on what you have learned you will find it easy to have a website setup in no time selling these kinds of products.
But you’d be surprised at the number of times I’ve visited a blog post or received an email that gives a glowing endorsement of a product or service, but doesn’t include enough links back to the company’s website. Sure, the brand’s name is mentioned throughout the content. Yet, that brand name is not hyperlinked with an affiliate link; instead, I need to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page or email in order to find a clickable link.
Mistake #2: Using the “They must not be my people” excuse to be spammy. I’m not a fan of this common tactic. Here’s how it works: people send a huge number of sales/promotional emails to their list with no warning and with no easy way to opt out. When people complain or unsubscribe, they put it on them (“Oh well, they aren’t my type of subscriber anyway…”), instead of taking responsibility for the spam (let’s call it what it is). What ever happened to “treat others the way you want to be treated”?

The reason you got this notification is because the starter membership isn’t available in your country. It is in NO WAY a spam website as they have a very strict spam free policy that you must abide by when you join. You must live in either Nigeria or India as these are the only 2 countries that I know of where the starter membership isn’t available.

Affilorama – While I promoted Affilorama in the past, I no longer do for many reasons. It has simply become too outdated. Affilorama also lacks in some of the training. Instead, they focus on helping you get started quickly by designing a site for you and seeding it with content. Some of the optional training courses they sell are quite expensive and compares to an entire annual membership at Wealthy Affiliate, so that’s why I no longer promote them. Again, they are worth checking out, but I think Wealthy Affiliate is a much better buy.
