Hi Jack, as a member affiliate of WA yourself, do you get a referral commission fee if I was to join via your link? If so how much is the commission and as a basic or free member would I get referral commissions and how much. Please explained and breakdown the commission structure. Also is the commission as a one off or it is recurring every month i.e a percentage of the monthly fees of the members joined via you. Please clarify. Many thanks
I am a Wealthy Affiliate member and I can honestly tell you this review is fantastic. I love the fact that you are upfront about this not being a get rich quick scheme. I think it is so important for people to know that they will get out of it what they put into it. There are a lot of resources available, including the training, and just a lot of very knowledgeable people. There are webinars, live chat, support. It’s up to the individual as to how much effort they are going to put into building a website with quality content. This review is very thorough and I don’t think you left any stone unturned. I also love to see that you are willing to share your income so people can see this works. Thanks for sharing, you definitely motivated me to get to work!
Frank, my Girlfriend invested in a system called Digital Altitude some time back, not quite sure what that system consisted of as it sounded a bit strange to me a retired Automotive Tech of 40 plus years! Of course I invested in her hoping it was legal and something legit… Well they are being temporally shut down by the Federal Trade Commission while they’re being investigated… Was going to suggest Wealthy Affiliate! So has Wealthy Affiliate been checked out?
IF this is correct, I happen to disagree, personally (about Network Marketing being a poor choice) – and hence, I would be reluctant to bring fellow Network Marketers into WA. I am associated with an MLM (a Natural Health & Wellness company), and I see a great many aspects within WA that would “support” building an MLM / Network Marketing biz via their superb Educational Marketing Platform — “as well as” — building a successful AFFILIATE business. In other words, being a ‘combo’ Inter-Network Marketer / Affiliate Marketer.
Many affiliate programs run with last-click attribution, where the affiliate receiving the last click before the sale gets 100% credit for the conversion. This is changing. With affiliate platforms providing new attribution models and reporting features, you are able to see a full-funnel, cross-channel view of how individual marketing tactics are working together. For example, you might see that a paid social campaign generated the first click, Affiliate X got click 2, and Affiliate Y got the last click. With this full picture, you can structure your affiliate commissions so that Affiliate X gets a percentage of the credit for the sale, even though they didn’t get the last click.
In terms of coaching, my advice is to try to go it alone for a while until you have specific questions you need to ask, and specific things that are troubling you in your business. Having a coach as a beginner is often a waste of money in my opinion, unless you have the cash laying around and really want to make progress fast. Most people do fine bootstrapping, then get a mentor when the hurdles start to get higher and more frequent.
A: I get this question a lot! Unfortunately there is no answer to it. There are so many variables that it’s simply impossible to estimate the timeline of success. It all depends on your work ethics, your ability to take action, the industry (or niche) that you will create your business is, the amount of work you’re willing to put in and many many many other factors. I have seen people start making money with their online business in their first week, I have seen many others who took 6 months to see their first sale.
4. Zero Entitlement – This has been the death of many potentially successful marketers on the internet. Affiliate marketing is no get rich quick scheme — it’s a business that requires dedication, effort and hard work. If you feel entitled to earn money because you placed a few ads or you followed a guide and are expecting instant or guaranteed returns, you will be killed! Failure is just a lesson learnt and a step closer to success.
The truth is, building an online business is not a perfect fir for everyone. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone and Wealthy Affiliate is not for everyone. One of the biggest differences between WA and many other training platform is the barrier of entry, WA is free to join. Sure, the free membership doesn’t give access to all of the training but it gives more than enough for a person to decide if they like the platform or not. Unfortunately some people want a free (or very cheap) training, support and they also want a profitable niche handed to them on a silver plate.

As far as how many articles you would need to get some good rankings this would depend on if you do in depth keyword research before you write the articles. From my own personal experience, I had around 30 articles before I started to see a good amount of traffic to my websites and started making sales. This would vary depending on how good of research you do and how well you follow the training.

When I say that I love Wealthy Affiliate, I’m not just saying that because I’m an affiliate for them. I’m a very active premium member at Wealthy Affiliate and love interacting with people on a daily basis. If you join, you’ll see me posting on people’s profiles, answering questions, chatting in the live chat area, and I have private personal messaging conversations multiple times per day.
If you’re on the same IP address as someone that has an account then this could be the reason why you’re getting this error msg. If this isn’t the case then I would send Kyle (Co-Owner Of WA) an email notifying him of this issue at Kyle@Wealthyaffiliate.com I will also send him an email and he will look into it and set you up with your own account.
Great article, Zach. The one question I have is about hyperlinking the brand name with your affiliate link. Isn’t it a little annoying for the reader if the brand name is hyperlinked throughout the article? It may even seem obvious to the reader that the blog is promoting an affiliate product. In an article with 1000+ words, a brand name may be mentioned at least 10-15 times. Do you suggest hyperlinking the brand every time?
Though there are no phone number to call for support. I have always gotten a response from WA webhost support team within an hour. I think it is about preference when it comes to web hosting. Some might find WA host reliable while others would host their websites some where else. Wealthy Affiliate is more of an education program and community for me. Even if I do not host with WA, I will still continue to be a premium member because I see the value in it.
For your second question, You only get paid when someone clicks on your link and buys something. For Amazon they don’t necessarily have to buy the item you are promoting for you to make a sale. If they buy anything at all when they go through your link you still get the commission for it. If you have Google ad sense on your website and someone clicks on your ads you will get paid every time someone clicks on them.
Use your personal words & experience with the product. Your own content, or photos & videos of yourself using the product are always the most effective. For example, many affiliate programs provide swipe copy to their affiliates which is pre-written emails, post material or social media posts. These can be helpful as a guide, but they often scream swipe copy, aren’t written in your voice (the one your readers know!) and if a lot of affiliates are using it, are overdone.
It also helps to think outside the box. Pinch of Yum long ago set up a blogging resources page, which talks about which host to go with, what sort of plugins you need to use, which theme to use, etc. Because some of these products are recurring (eg. hosting affiliate programs), this page continues to bring in money over time, long after someone makes the original purchase.
Since I’ve been in the industry for 9 years I have joined countless training websites and not a single one came close to Wealthy Affiliate. I am not going to list everything within WA but just their Live Video classes are extremely amazing. There are now over 200 videos that train you on several subject. You can learn how to start and grow your email list in any niche, how to do social media marketing, how to run successful Facebook ads, how to do local SEO and find clients in your city, how to scale your niche websites and a lot more. Jay often does Niche Hot Seat series where people actually share their niche website and get a real live audit and suggestions on how to grow it, scale it and earn more money from it. Unfortunately it seems like you haven’t attended any of those closes and didn’t watch the previous classes which are all recorded. All of these classes concentrate on building a successful business outside of promoting WA.

If you have spent any considerable amount of time researching Wealthy Affiliate you might have realized there are virtually no bad reviews about WA online. Whenever you think of customer’s rant and feedback you realize that unhappy customers are a lot more tempted to leave a bad review online than the satisfied once. This is true for restaurants, dentists, car dealerships and of course online training programs. Well over 100,000 people have joined Wealthy Affiliate since 2005 and as you can see the vast majority is completely happy with Wealthy Affiliate and everything it has to offer. This is why it’s almost impossible to find any bad press about WA online.
Don’t feel bad though when I first started I did the same exact thing that you did. I posted ads and click bank links but I got no sales. I would suggest that when you join under me you use a new email and username that way you can start over fresh and I can get you started down the right path. To answer your last question, there really isn’t no answer for this because everyone is different.
The wellness and organic living could be a very profitable niche to get involved with. With the help and support of WA you should be able to get started in this niche with no problem. (especially since you said you were passionate about it) If you follow the training and take action on what you have learned you will find it easy to have a website setup in no time selling these kinds of products.

The biggest issue I’ve had with previous training programs and marketing communities is how outdated they get. With a Wealthy Affiliate Premium membership, you don’t need to worry about that. New trainings are added daily including live weekly video training sessions. You can also search and browse past trainings they’ve created over the years. With a premium membership, you also get unlimited access to community features which is one of my favorite aspects of Wealthy Affiliate. I spend hours per day simply chatting and messaging people who clicked on my Wealthy Affiliate affiliate link. When they use my link to sign up, I get notified, and the personal one-on-one coaching can begin. No other platform has offered this option before.
4.You can earn anywhere from 4%-75% commission on each item that people buy using your affiliate link. Depending on if its a physical or digital product. Digital products usually pay a lot higher commission because they can be sent to customers email address instead of sending it through the mail. Amazon starts you out at 4% and you can work your way up to earning 10% commission on everything you sell from your website.

Ask for VIP (sometimes called “tiered”) commissions. Many affiliate programs have different commission levels. Usually the standard commission level is made public, but higher commissions are offered to higher performing affiliates. Sometimes you may be bumped up to “VIP affiliate” status by the advertiser, but most times you have to ask if there’s a higher tier and how you can get there.

Thanks for stopping by. As regards your question, unfortunately this is not a get rich quick scheme. It’s probable that you don’t see any earnings on your first months. You will need to invest time building your site from scratch: this means publishing good articles, creating a nice layout, etc. If you want to accelerate the process you can outsource your content and SEO but that will cost you more money.

When you join as a premium member you are going to get access to the level 2 training and up, along with access to every Boot camp phase that has been released so far. (There are 6 Phases so far) You will also get the ability to host all your websites at Wealthy Affiliate for no extra charge. You will also be able to send PMs to any of the other members including Kyle and Carson their-self and get personal one on one help.
There are many other online forums and programs that talk about making money online but whenever you ask a simple question many users will reply with: “Dude, this stupid question has been asked many times before – just google it!” – You will not get this kind of reply on WA. Wealthy Affiliate is a learning center so there are no stupid questions, every question is important and people will try to answer it as well as they can. However if you do not feel comfortable asking a question (don’t be shy, just ask!) you could simply look through the resources and questions other people asked – I can almost guarantee you will find your answer within minutes.
The reason you got this notification is because the starter membership isn’t available in your country. It is in NO WAY a spam website as they have a very strict spam free policy that you must abide by when you join. You must live in either Nigeria or India as these are the only 2 countries that I know of where the starter membership isn’t available.
Forms of new media have also diversified how companies, brands, and ad networks serve ads to visitors. For instance, YouTube allows video-makers to embed advertisements through Google's affiliate network.[17][18] New developments have made it more difficult for unscrupulous affiliates to make money. Emerging black sheep are detected and made known to the affiliate marketing community with much greater speed and efficiency.[citation needed]
Thank you for the article! You really provided a fair explanation of how Wealthy Affiliate works. Since this is simply a guide on how to successfully create and run your online business, am I allowed to cancel my membership after a period of time? I know that you said that there’s no limitation to cancelling my subscription, but what would be the benefit to continuing as a member even after I have learned all I needed and I’m successful in my business? What will I be losing if I opted to cancel after I’ve been successful? I’m just trying to learn if they (the founders of Wealthy Affiliate) expect people to pay the monthly or yearly fee forever or until they’ve acquired the success they desire. I look forward to your response!
It’s actually $47 and as I have said below in my other comment. You can get your first month for only $19 and get complete access to the premium membership at this discounted price. The reason why there is a recurring fee is because each and every month you are going to be getting new training and updated courses about how to start a business online. This is a subscription website and you are going to be trained on how to make money online. It is also an online college and you are paying for an education but at a much discounted price.
Websites consisting mostly of affiliate links have previously held a negative reputation for underdelivering quality content. In 2005 there were active changes made by Google, where certain websites were labeled as "thin affiliates".[29] Such websites were either removed from Google's index or were relocated within the results page (i.e., moved from the top-most results to a lower position). To avoid this categorization, affiliate marketer webmasters must create quality content on their websites that distinguishes their work from the work of spammers or banner farms, which only contain links leading to merchant sites.
Affiliate marketing allows you to make money online, even if you don’t have a blog, website, or any products of your own. Following a few simple steps can get you up and running within hours and earning your first commissions right away. Affiliate marketing really is one of the fastest and easiest ways to make money online and should be a part of every online business owner's portfolio.
I don’t recall saying that I sold medical supplies from Amazon, but I do have a website that I sell gaming headsets and other gaming accessories from Amazon which I make money from. It’s actually not as hard as you might think, and I’ll explain how it works in a few easy steps. You just need to pick a hobby or interest of yours and build a website around this hobby. You then need to attract visitors to your website and promote products and services that are related to this hobby.
First and foremost I do Buisness with Wealthy Affiliate and as the first time building my online business I have earned income by referring my friends, colleges and family member to WA and I had build my own sites afar from WA and selling products ALREADY!! They are NOT A SCAM!! Unlike other business like Aspire Digital Altitude or Counter Profits etc.... As my experience continues with Wealthy Affiliates they were the most inexpensive services provided and not just only that there are other people that already has online business thatg needed more training to have their business to drive more traffic through the search engines for cheaper price on the plug ins versus an outsource other than Wealthy Affiliate.
I would suggest that you get started by signing up for your FREE account and then filling out your profile by uploading a pic of yourself or using one of the ones that Wealthy Affiliate provides you with.Write a little about yourself in your profile description and let the community know what you would like to achieve and list some goals for yourself.
Can you run a successful business by only using the free membership option at Wealthy Affiliate? Well, you can, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Instead, I recommend you sign up for the free Wealthy Affiliate membership as a way to try things out. Honestly, the free membership is set up to be a bit of a teaser to get you to sign up for premium eventually, but most of us expect that going in. What’s nice about it is you can judge for yourself, based on the free membership, whether it is worth it for you to sign up for premium. Ultimately, only you can decide if Wealthy Affiliate is high quality or not. You will get more than enough of an idea by signing up for their free membership option. On average, about 1 in every eight people upgrade to a premium membership.
