Wow, what a thorough, and detailed review of Wealthy Affiliate. You have answered all of my questions, and then some. I now feel as though I have the information I need to make an educated decision. I am amazed at all of the benefits and training that Wealthy Affiliate provides, and 2 free websites to start out with. Anyone that has an interest in this program needs to see this review. Well done, and thanks for sharing. Tom
I was told by Nathaniell, on a pretty good site that I thought was legitimate, that I could enhance my existing site by adding marketing for products related to my already niche field of Kitchen Design, and get paid for it! Silly me! I thought it was somewhat curious that I could go to a company like Design Within Reach, and ask them if I could market for them, and have them pay me. I didn't see how this could work. There was some kind of program partnership that wasn't fully explained. So after much resistance I signed up with a backup email to try it out for 7 days, and see if I could learn as much as I could.

The truth is, building an online business is not a perfect fir for everyone. Entrepreneurship is not for everyone and Wealthy Affiliate is not for everyone. One of the biggest differences between WA and many other training platform is the barrier of entry, WA is free to join. Sure, the free membership doesn’t give access to all of the training but it gives more than enough for a person to decide if they like the platform or not. Unfortunately some people want a free (or very cheap) training, support and they also want a profitable niche handed to them on a silver plate.

Websites consisting mostly of affiliate links have previously held a negative reputation for underdelivering quality content. In 2005 there were active changes made by Google, where certain websites were labeled as "thin affiliates".[29] Such websites were either removed from Google's index or were relocated within the results page (i.e., moved from the top-most results to a lower position). To avoid this categorization, affiliate marketer webmasters must create quality content on their websites that distinguishes their work from the work of spammers or banner farms, which only contain links leading to merchant sites.
I just Google “[product type] + affiliate program.” So if you want to promote e-cigs. You would Google, “e-cig affiliate programs” or something of that nature. I like going with companies who have had an affiliate program for a while. Companies with new programs often times are late with payments and/or don’t convert as well as the well established companies.
Instant and friendly help is something that will keep you moving in the right direction. You will not have to spend days searching for answers that don't quite fit what you are looking for, or hours scrolling through old forums and blog posts trying to figure out things by yourself. Now you have hundreds of personal assistants that can show you what to do next.'
The way the training is structured is great for learning. Many courses just throw videos at you without any structure. Seriously. I've taken a course where all the members complained about how disorganized it was. The founders said it was purposefully disorganized to teach you how to dig and search for things like an entrepreneur. I couldn't make up something so crazy!

Always fill out the comment box to “sell” your platform. If you are given the opportunity to explain why you are interested in a program, do it! Use the space to highlight why you would be an asset to the program. Talk about how your audience is their audience. Talk about the size of your mailing list (if it’s significant). Talk about your success with similar programs. Talk about where and how you will promote (hopefully you’ve done a bit of research so you know what they’re hoping for). Don’t sound desperate and certainly don’t lie about anything, but be upfront and honest about how this will be a win for them.
If you are interested in my one on one help then you can sign up for your Free account here and I would be glad to help you get started online and get your website up and running. Sorry I don’t have an online forum, but if you have any questions you would like to ask me you can fill out the form on my contact us page and shoot me an email and I will answer any questions you might have. Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to answering your questions and helping you get a business up and running.
Can you run a successful business by only using the free membership option at Wealthy Affiliate? Well, you can, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Instead, I recommend you sign up for the free Wealthy Affiliate membership as a way to try things out. Honestly, the free membership is set up to be a bit of a teaser to get you to sign up for premium eventually, but most of us expect that going in. What’s nice about it is you can judge for yourself, based on the free membership, whether it is worth it for you to sign up for premium. Ultimately, only you can decide if Wealthy Affiliate is high quality or not. You will get more than enough of an idea by signing up for their free membership option. On average, about 1 in every eight people upgrade to a premium membership.
Some commentators originally suggested that affiliate links work best in the context of the information contained within the website itself. For instance, if a website contains information pertaining to publishing a website, an affiliate link leading to a merchant's internet service provider (ISP) within that website's content would be appropriate. If a website contains information pertaining to sports, an affiliate link leading to a sporting goods website may work well within the context of the articles and information about sports. The goal, in this case, is to publish quality information on the website and provide context-oriented links to related merchant's websites.

I realize my bias is already showing through, so I’ll get to what I DON’T like about Wealthy Affiliate below. But, as I’ve already stated, overall I don’t know of any other place that is better for new affiliate marketers to get started than Wealthy Affiliate. If you take a look around my site, you’ll notice I’ve spent a TON of time on it. I’ve spent years of my life building this site, and there are currently almost 500 posts here, all for free, for everyone. It is in my best interest to promote only the best training course and that training course is Wealthy Affiliate.
Hello Chris, I am planning to join Wealthy Affiliate as a premium. But I am a 33-yr old woman who does not have a common sense like I get from most people. I am also a woman who does not have that much intellectual capacity. So I’m not sure how much my brain can comprehend and how much my brain can take all the information from WA. Do you think I should just give it a try?
If you treat this like a real business and put lots of time and effort into it you will definitely start to see your hard work paying off. If you haven’t already I would sign up for your FREE account by clicking on the join now button above. Once you are inside you should complete your profile setup by uploading a pic of you or you can use 1 of the ones WA provides you with.
In order for your domains/ websites to get traffic and ranked in the search engines, you are going to need to have a good amount of articles written and have the foundation for your website in place before you can make any sales. The number of articles/reviews needed to make sales will vary from person to person and also depends on the niche. Personally for me, I have made money in 2 different niches so far in the 3 years I have been in this business. For the make money online niche (This website) it took about 30-35 articles to get a fair amount of traffic and for me to make my first sale.
By doing this, you will be setting yourself up for failure and it’s not a very good way to start out. If you really are that worried about the payments then you should wait until you are a little more financially stable and are able to invest in your education. You actually can be a starter member forever if you want to and make money, but going this route will take you much longer and your chances of being successful aren’t nearly as good as if you invested in the advanced training courses.

Hi,I have been contemplating joining WA for a while now. My life circumstances have changed recently. I want and need to begin an at home business, and I think WA will help me get there. I just signed up for the premium membership and am very excited to begin. But thats the $64000 question…Where to begin? Thank you for this review site info. It was very helpful to help me decide take the plunge. 🙂

This is the standard affiliate marketing structure. In this program, the merchant pays the affiliate a percentage of the sale price of the product after the consumer purchases the product as a result of the affiliate’s marketing strategies. In other words, the affiliate must actually get the investor to invest in the product before they are compensated.

Affiliate marketers usually choose between a resource site and a review site for the type of content they intend to provide for their readers. A resource site contains all the information about products related to the industry and needs to be updated regularly so that it is top-of-mind for the customers. You post articles that generally talk about the industry, give overviews of new launches, talks about the changes in the industries, post how-to articles, and more.
There is nothing better than taking a hobby or passion and turning it into a full time business. If you cannot think of anything you would like to sell then WA has the Affiliate boot camp with a topic that is already chosen for you. So no matter what direction you decide to go you can get started today for $0 and have a website that you can use to bring in sales. I hope this has answered your question and if you have any more questions or need help getting started let me know. Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to working with you at WA and helping you get started in your own online business.
My name is Brad and I'm a full-time affiliate marketer. I started trying to do affiliate marketing back towards the end of 2013 while I was working a full-time job in corporate America and living in St. Louis, Missouri. I struggled badly at first. It seemed hopeless because I wasn't making any progress. But I stuck with it for better or worse and joined Wealthy Affiliate in 2014.

Wealthy Affiliate saves my life and I can tell you I have been with them for 6 months and already generating income. Yes they say it does take time to work it but you have to make it work as well. Even those like myself never knew how to build a website I manage to make sells already and that's not just selling WA information, but other products I created as my own niche. The negative impacts or comments some.of you have shared about Wealthy Affiliates are wrong. You just dont give the time nor the effort to accomplish the training and materials provided. And as far as assistance online with WA, I got beyond the assistance needed. Wealthy Affiliate I referred over 80 people and they ALL love it!! So with that being said I have no issues with WA. Stop making it seem like they are SCAMMING you out of your money....
Take advantage of affiliate program freebies when available. Many affiliate programs provide free printables, guides, webinars or other lead magnets designed to get potential customers in their sales funnel. As an affiliate, you can share these freebies with your audience using your affiliate link so if they eventually make a purchase, you’ll earn a commission, but if they don’t they still get value upfront.

Note: Like regular browser cookies, affiliate link cookies also have an “expiration date.” So for example, if the affiliate program has it set up so that their cookies expire within 12 hours, the consumer has 12 hours to make the purchase and have the sale connected to your affiliate ID. The consumer can bookmark the link and come back to the product page later on, but as long as they make the purchase within that time, you’re golden!
A: Wealthy Affiliate Premium is available to everyone and in every country. However, Wealthy Affiliate Free Membership is not available to 7 countries at the moment: Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Vietnam. I do not own Wealthy Affiliate and I don’t know why this decision was made so I can’t offer any other details or support on this subject. If you live in one of these seven countries you can still join the premium membership of WA at any time at a regular price of $49 per month.

Yes you can start up a website in the cooking niche. We have many other WA members who are involved in this niche and they are doing really well with it. You could definitely put up your own recipes and share them with everyone. The FREE Starter membership is forever and it never expires. Once you join you will gain instant access to your 2 free websites, your first certification course as well as the highest quality tools available to start up an online business.
One observation I would like to make – When I read WA member comments about being discouraged or that WA is a scam/rip-off. Do you know what I found these folks have in common? They haven’t bothered to go through the training courses. They try to hurry from point A to point Z, overnight. They do not have reasonable expectations. They lack the ability to have perseverance. They have more excuses than goals and they want something for little to no work or investment.
My name is Jamie Spencer and I have spent the past 5 years building money making blogs. After growing tired of the 9-5, commuting and never seeing my family I decided that I wanted to make some changes and launched my first blog. Since then I have launched lots of successful niche blogs and after selling my survivalist blog I decided to teach other people how to do the same.
Hi Taylor, If you are not a good sales person or you don’t like cold calling then you definitely wouldn’t fit in with Ameriplan. I joined them thinking I would make good money with them before asking what it is that I would be doing. This was a bad move and I regret it. Congratulations on your newborn baby! I can totally understand you wanting to work from home for many reasons. When you join Wealthy Affiliate for Free you will get 2 free websites that you can use to promote anything you want.
The wellness and organic living could be a very profitable niche to get involved with. With the help and support of WA you should be able to get started in this niche with no problem. (especially since you said you were passionate about it) If you follow the training and take action on what you have learned you will find it easy to have a website setup in no time selling these kinds of products.
Hey Kim, There is no such thing as a dumb question. You won’t know unless you ask and I’m glad you asked this question. When you join Wealthy Affiliate you can promote anything you want, I usually recommend people to start out with a passion or hobby. There are millions of different products you could sell on your website from places like Amazon, Click bank and many others. You can do this by signing up to their affiliate program which is free to join.
If anyone is claiming Wealthy Affiliate is a scam, I'm going to guess it's because of one of the following reasons: they are trying to convince you to join a different program or they didn't have success with Wealthy Affiliate. Being a successful affiliate is going to require you to roll up your sleeves and put in some hours. Nobody said it would be easy, and if they did they're lying to you.
I have no marketing talent whatsoever, but, I am happy to know that I can learn marketing talent and skill from Wealthy Affiliate. I do have a desire to make money online, and according to the reputation of Wealthy Affiliate, it seems like a viable choice to enlist their services. However, I have not the slightest idea of what good or service I could market and I’m skeptical that whatever idea I may have has already been done and is more popular and of more use than whatever good or service I have in mind. In this case I like the philosophy “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” I would add that I do have an interest in video games, making a website to encourage consumers on their purchasing decisions and increase their knowledge about video game software and hardware is an inventive suggestion, but isn’t there already many YouTube channels that do just this? Furthermore, even if I made such a website, I wouldn’t want to make money by scamming or much less spamming people with shameless product placements and advertisement placement populating the majority of such a website.
When I first started, it took me 2 hours during weekdays and 4 hours or more during weekends, and this schedule lasted for about 4 to 5 months. (That is till I got my first commission) Then now it is about 1 hour every weekday and 2 hours during weekends. Of course, I will work more if I have the time because I am passionate about my online business.
Since you’re essentially a freelancer, you get ultimate independence in setting your own goals, redirecting your path when you feel so inclined, choosing the products that interest you, and even determining your own hours. This convenience means you can diversify your portfolio if you like or focus solely on simple and straightforward campaigns. You’ll also be free from company restrictions and regulations as well as ill-performing teams.
My main gripe with OMG Machines, from an affiliate perspective, is that their affiliate training is limited at best. They definitely are great at teaching black hat SEO, but I found myself searching the internet for more information on affiliate marketing since the course doesn't cover much else. Wealthy Affiliate definitely covers the topic of affiliate marketing way better and is much more affordable. OMG Machines does not offer a money-back guarantee either. They say you need to commit and not have one foot out the door, so no refunds are allowed.
Thank you for the article! You really provided a fair explanation of how Wealthy Affiliate works. Since this is simply a guide on how to successfully create and run your online business, am I allowed to cancel my membership after a period of time? I know that you said that there’s no limitation to cancelling my subscription, but what would be the benefit to continuing as a member even after I have learned all I needed and I’m successful in my business? What will I be losing if I opted to cancel after I’ve been successful? I’m just trying to learn if they (the founders of Wealthy Affiliate) expect people to pay the monthly or yearly fee forever or until they’ve acquired the success they desire. I look forward to your response!
The starter membership was designed to get you started and give you a taste of what you will be doing before investing any money up front into this business. I have seen plenty of people make money with only the starter membership, but it wasn’t a whole lot. You aren’t going to make a whole lot of money when you first start out, you just need to keep working at it and stick with it. Your income will eventually grow over time the more you work at it. You also need to keep in mind that this is a business and at some point you will need to invest money into the premium training, tools, and help and support if you want to make really good money with it.
Although it differs from spyware, adware often uses the same methods and technologies. Merchants initially were uninformed about adware, what impact it had, and how it could damage their brands. Affiliate marketers became aware of the issue much more quickly, especially because they noticed that adware often overwrites tracking cookies, thus resulting in a decline of commissions. Affiliates not employing adware felt that it was stealing commission from them. Adware often has no valuable purpose and rarely provides any useful content to the user, who is typically unaware that such software is installed on his/her computer.
